A Wee Little Update
Hello friends and family,
First and foremost, I just want to say thank you for all the support so far! I was meaning to get something a bit bigger out this morning but life has been hectic.
Anyone who's travelled internationally before knows that it can be a lot of work physically and mentally. Over the past 5 days I have had some of the most amazing experiences, seen some of the coolest places, and taken my first steps towards a lifelong caffeine addiction. However, it's been a lot.
A few members of my group have become unwell with colds, and I fear I soon might them. I've been feeling a wee bit sniffly these past few days and my throat's a bit scratchy. The altitude (more on that soon) has certainly taken it's toll on me, and if it wasn't for my lord and saviours Ondansetron and Acetazolamide[1], these past few days would have been spent puking.
Not speaking Spanish has also made life that wee bit more challenging, but the people of Bogotá are extremely kind. Through the power of pointing and the word "eso"[2], I have been able to have bare minimum communication. Google translate has also been a life saver. If you are coming here without a solid understanding of Spanish, make sure that you have Spanish downloaded in the Google translate app. 9.5 times out of 10, it's accurate.
Some of those "amazing experiences" mentioned before are going to Monserrate and meeting a group from the Bronx of Colombia. I won't be going too into detail about the Bronx because rumour has it that there's a cool documentary about them coming soon, however I will happily show you all my cool pictures from Monserrate.

You're very brave, I'm goad google translate is working well for Spanish! It can be such a mixed bag at times, but when it works it's a really incredible tool. And those are some gorgeous photos!! I'm so jealous. Tha cable car!!!
